“Okay, I am finally getting around to writing my ten things that make me happy because boy, do I like to procrastinate. Procrastination, however, is not one of the things that make me happy; it just stresses me out. Anyway, I had forgotten what the list was supposed to be about. Ten things that I love? Ten things that I think are pretty? Ten things I currently have bookmarked? Ten things I hate about you? Nope, ten things that make me happy.”

Ten Things That Make Me (McKatie) Happy (with a theme!)

1. Listening to music on the radio:
“Radio-there’s a medium I can get behind.”
2. Fresh flowers:
“Don’t you think that daisies are the friendliest flower?”
3. Anyone or anything that makes me laugh:
“He’s got the most wonderful sense of humor.”
4. Appreciating when nothing needs to be said:
“You’re more likely to talk about nothing than something.”
5. Dreaming up impossible schemes:
“I’m in the middle of a project that needs tweaking.”
6. Receiving packages in the mail:
“You’ve got mail. . . three very powerful words.”
7. Naps: “Go to the mattresses.”
8. A pinch of spite:
“That was a perfect combination of poetry and meanness.”
9. A perfect book:
“When you read a book as a child, it becomes a part of your identity in a way that no other reading in your whole life does.”
10. A dress with pockets:
“You’re nothing more than a suit.”

Bonus #11- The movie “You’ve Got Mail” which is pretty much perfect and from which the quotes are taken.

this is one of my all time favorite movies! i watch it every time its on tv. sometimes, when they play it back-to-back, i watch it twice.

one of these days, someone will give me a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils. and it will be the happiest day of my life.
