I’m going gray. I would label this as premature, since I still look 18. I have been fixing the problem at home with Nice’nEasy Root Touch-ups. But after a few months of this, coupled with growing out a full hair box dye job from the fall, my hair is different shades of brown, orange, and gray.

Since this will not do for the wedding, I went to a salon this weekend that specializes in hair color for a (free) consulation. I wanted to know how much I needed to invest in my hair this coming year.

I met with a woman named Anastacia who had dirty dishwater blonde stringy hair and a tongue piercing. Her strategy was three pronged:

a three hour color correction appointment: $345
two weeks later, a color glaze: $55
every 6 weeks, a touch up: $80

This of course does not include tips or products to protect my color treated hair.

When they asked if I would like to set up that color correction appointment now, I fumbled something about summer vacations and finding a good time then left the salon.

Hell will freeze over before I hand a woman with black roots over $1000 to color my hair.
